A Half Empty Nest
As I mentioned before, my daughter is moving out of home. This is not her first step out into the world, however this time she is making the move completely on her own and I am really proud of her. It will be great for us to have more space and freedom here, and we will be taking advantage of it. But I will miss having her around. So mixed feelings, happy though, that she will be able to express herself in her own space and live in such a beautiful neighbourhood. It will be just me and the boys here now - a different family dynamic!
Above is a journal page - an ink drawing of one of my particularly happy pot plants.

"Pot plant"=a plant in a pot.
ReplyDeleteGotta amdit, I've never seen the term used like that...which might say something about my wasted youth.
Best wishes for your daughter and you.
Oh, you make me want to draw my plants!
ReplyDeleteYour post certainly strikes home with me today. My youngest is back at university and tonight is my first night alone in my house for about 3 months! It certainly is quiet...
ReplyDeletelovely line ddrawing. I wish your daughter all the luck and blessings in the world as she embarks on a new phase of being in the world. And you too, all the changes of energy that happen when someone moves.
