The past week was a mega heatwave, not good for doing anything much except staying cool.  By contrast, this week has been lovely temps and it's a pleasure to be out walking, doing a little yoga and pottering in the garden.  Autumn is my favourite season and I am really looking forward to more of it.

Today I'm off to buy a canvas for a big painting, I haven't done one for at least six months and I'm feeling the urge again.  My living area needs a painting with some lovely reds and oranges, so this one will be for me.

The above journal page was not intended to be a haiku, yet almost was one!

Here is a proper haiku;

heatwave wore us down
rainfall and humidity
cool change came at last

  1. Can't wait to see the finished result, you must post a photo of the whole room :) Love your Haiku

  2. I like thinking about the heat wave as I shiver in minus zero temps with snow coming down.

  3. I can't wait to see your painting! This year I am so drawn to reds, oranges and yellows. (Although I have been drawn to reds for a number of years) You are going to have so much fun.

    Rain is the perfect transition from heat to cooler temps. Somehow it cleans everything so you can more fully enjoy the next bit. At least that is what it seems to me.

    PS - Next time I have beans on toast I'm going to dress it up like you do!

please share a thought......
