Unofficially - Spring!

Spring is here!  Not officially, but my trees are unfurling tiny new green leaves, bulbs have pushed up through the ground and the first blow-fly droned through my open front door today!

The weather has been incredibly rainy, though luckily we've had the occasional blue sky day that has been great for gardening - weeding mostly, much easier to pull out clumps of grass in the damp soil.

Consequently, I have no art to share, too busy outside in the warm sunshine, it's too good to miss!

  5. just curious as I was reading another blog, I forget which, but the blogger lives in Australia and she was saying it was winter. Do you have different seasons in different areas of the country?

  6. Suki I live in NSW, a more temperate zone than say, Victoria. I have always had my own markers for Spring - the new leaves on my Golden Robinia, spring bulbs flowering, Magnolia flowering, the return of flies buzzing about, a day when we don't need to put on heating till later in the evening (even though it is still quite cold temps most days 16degC)It's not officially Spring till 1st Sept, but I can see the changes now.

so glad you did get a nudge from my post about meditation. went to a morning retreat here in london, and the gem i picked up from it was:
    'It's not what's happening,
It's how we relate to it.'

  11. We have wattle blooming here in the city- I caught a sniff of it today in the Botanic Gardens. It didn't feel like spring however on Saturday while I was on canteen duty at football and the wind whistled through the shop window coming directly from Canberra. I lingered by the hot pies as much as I could....
